1776/Let Us Keep the Dream Alive
Every American no matter your religion or no religion, if you are a minority, where you were born, what you look like, all must step up to protect your flag. So, get ready for the “No kings” march and probably the most important election in American history and vote on November 3rd. And make your friends vote. I believe God and our Founding Fathers are applauding us and encouraging us to maintain freedom and liberty in this country.
MY BLOG
This is now the political time when voter participation is absolutely required. It is why I started this blog four years ago. I am 89 years old, devoted to our American history and our flag. I attended a one room school, grade 6 through 8, with teacher Helen Miller that started my love of American history. She introduced the four 8th graders to the U.S. Constitution and made us memorize the Gettysburg Address. I am the youngest of nine siblings, the only one who earned a college degree. I am an Army veteran with two older brothers buried in Arlington National Cemetery. I am a grandfather, and a retired Independent Insurance Agent. For over sixty years I have retained an avocation for writing. These are not the best of times in America, but it is a sin to despair, so we must all rally around the rule of law and our flag, RIGHT NOW!
THE PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP
Remember, our President is always attempting to acquire more power, more personal wealth and more retribution. He seems to have acquired this ambition from past authoritarians. After many years of studying Donald J. Trump there is plenty of reasons for many of us to be uncomfortable politically. These are not normal activities from the Executive branch. Our President certainly does not practice the rule of law as we have come to know it for 250 years. After all, he is a convicted felon, with 34 counts of fraud over wrongs committed leading up to his first term as President. He paid a $25,000,000 fine to Trump University students. He paid a $2 million fine to the state of New York for misuse of his Family Foundation which had to be permanently invalidated. He has had six bankruptcies, and he has been sued 3,400 times. I won't go on any further, but there is much more that could be added. Fact-check! Some of these listed below could be construed as malfeasance:
QUESTIONS
1) Does he practice or believe in Diversity, Equity or Inclusion? No.
2) Does he practice deception, divide and conquer tactics? Yes.
3) Does he boast of following the rule of law? Never.
4) Is his behavior questionable over U.S. Constitutional matters? Yes.
5) Has America lost many of its freedom loving friends? Yes.
6) Does he admire authoritarians? You betcha.
7) Does he admire freedom and liberty? Only for himself.
8) Does he have a cult following? Yes.
9) Does he have a patriotic love of America? No, he says his opponents are "the enemy of the people".
10) Has he caused many of our freedom loving countries to now lose faith in America? Yes.
11) Does he want peace and support for the European Union? Not hardly.
12) Does our President favor Vladimir Putin over Ukraine? Yes.
PROJECT 2025 AND DOGE
Have our Institutions been disrupted by Project 2025 and DOGE? In many cases, were the Institutions partially or completely destroyed? Yes, they were. The destruction was because of using ideological chainsaws and bulldozers instead of thoughtful examinations of problems. The changes were so disturbing for federal employee morale that no employees will now speak to the press out of fear.
An example of the destructive behavior of DOGE under USAID, happened when American farmer’s food stuffs already grown and paid for, headed for starving children was stopped. As a result, over 500,000 children starved to death. Remember in four years in WWII we lost just 400,000 GI’s. The food was left on wharfs and never shipped. Most of these deaths were in Africa as the food never arrived and the USAID medical clinics were closed. Now it appears there will no longer be farmers growing food stuffs as soft power under USAID. These negative results were created under the actions of Project 2025, DOGE and supervising it all was Vice President JD Vance, Russ Vought who were all led by Elon Musk. Fact-check.
The above matter is so full of sadness and so full of indifference, especially when you consider that in 1962 USAID was set up by President John F. Kennedy as soft power to show the world where the heart of American citizens stood. In 1962 remember 3% of our budget went to foreign affairs and it is now 1%. Talk of us giving away all our money to foreigners is totally wrong.
MONEY ISSUES AND FOREIGN POLICY ACTIONS UNDER THIS ADMINISTRATION
Is the President embracing excessive behavior seeking more personal wealth in the past two years? Yes!!! He has broken records in July this year for transactions on Wall Street, equaling 11,000 through his business managers. Has he made millions on Crypto currency? Yes. Now he is attempting to sell for a fee of $100,000 a month, access to early decisions he will make on Truth Social which will impact Wall Street. The state of California is suing him over this scheme. I could go on and on with some of these questionable activities, including political MAGA ads now costing $20 million paid for by the taxpayer. This Executive branch is not using traditional political operations and procedures. There is no oversight and the President is seldom stopped by the House and Senate over appropriations. Fact-check!
The war in Iran, the position over Venezuela, the killing of alleged drug dealers in boats, and the 172 children killed in a school as the war started, have led to assertions of the Execute branch violating international law and the Genevea Convention. It seems like senseless playground bullying many times. Thoughtless positions are now too often arising out of the behavior of our President. My eighth-grade teacher alerted us to bullies on the playground who can dish it out, but they can’t take it. We must condemn some of this rash behavior and mayhem caused by the Executive branch. The President needs more sunlight over his activities, not less. That’s why the press and reporters are needed now more than ever.
AI POSSIBILITIES
It appears four American billionaire oligarchs will have much of the control over AI. The questions over regulating this new technology has not yet been decided. The President has instructed a study group that will last four months. No one can say with certainty the outcome of AI. Remember President Donald Trump is anti-science, he believes vaccinations are optional and he claims global warming and climate change is a hoax. So now if you are doing the engineering and researching the construction of AI, now what? AI does not have a conscience so what about moral issues? We could be heading for garbage in, garbage out problems. The American people’s representatives under our U.S Constitution must be part of this giant venture. This is a major undertaking with major consequences if it fails. To structure it without regulation and oversight is nuts.
THE HUNGARIAN VOTE, IN APRIL 2026
In 1956 I was stationed in France as an Army draftee at a quartermaster depot, as a clerk typist. One day we were called into the company street for an important announcement from our post commander. He told us that we would all be issued two bandoliers of M1 rifle ammunition because of the Hungarian revolt, taking place in Budapest. Russian tanks were already arriving in Hungary to quell the rebellion. Hungarian refugees were soon pouring into nearby French towns. The revolt was eventually put down by the Russians and peace was restored. Four months later I was sent to Germany in the Bavarian Alps to an Army Military School for two months studying Personnel Specialists Training. Our quarters were a German ski trooper camp build during WW II. There were four men to a room. Two of them were paratroopers and the third was an ex-tank driver who wanted a new MOS (Military Occupational Specialty). I mentioned to my roommates that we had been issued two bandoliers of rifle ammunition because of the Hungarian revolt. One of the paratroopers smiled and said, “yeah I remember that day in Munich where I was stationed, we received an emergency command that our regiment of 1,200 men were ordered to gather at the nearby auditorium. We sat down and the Colonel appeared on stage, looked at us and said , “boys, we jump in Budapest in four hours.” We sat there for no more than three seconds and then all 1,200 of us stood up and applauded. He said that at that moment, “I was proud to be an American paratrooper.” I looked at him and I said, “well, being a clerk typist, I might have been a little concerned at that point.” My three roommates laughed. Dear reader, I remember this incident as if it happened a month ago. The paratrooper that told the story was Robert Handler from St. Louis Missouri.
In 1990 Hungary became a democratic society after the Russians were pulling out of all the occupied territories of Eastern Europe. Hungary ended up a democracy and Prime Minister Viktor Orban won an election 16 years ago. He started quickly absorbing more power than was allowed. He slowly but surely created a quasi-authoritarian country. Hungary was a member of NATO and the European Union, so they were on a negative political stance with the EU. After several years the Hungarian citizens were disturbed by the authoritarian take-over. Prime Minister Orban was up for reelection in April 2026 and his opponent was Peter Magyar. Because all communications, television and radio, were controlled by Orban, his opponent Magyar had to put speakers on his vehicle and drive all over Hungary seeking a vote of support! It's important to remember that Vladimir Putin had Russian operatives in Hungary supporting Orban, as well as Vice President JD Vance. JD Vance even played a recorded message on radio from President Donald Trump encouraging Hungarians to vote for Orban. Remember Vice President JD Vance had demeaned NATO and the European Union during this period. Dear reader it is estimated that over 70% of the Hungarian voters backed Peter Magyar. The vote was so overwhelming that both Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump had little to say. As a result of this election the European Union released billions of dollars that were allocated on behalf of Hungary but were held up until Magyar took over. Peter Magyar ran on being friendly to NATO and the EU. I think every liberty loving American should be happy that a democracy has been restored in Hungary. And also, we should support Ukraine in its desire to be free from the Russian invasion.
What is the lesson here, and does it apply to the United States? The lesson is that if you're in a Republic or a Democracy and you want to keep it, then you must act, you must vote, and you must believe in your government. So, we must expend the same energy, that the Hungarians used, as we attend the October 17th “No kings” march and the vote on November 3rd. If you believe we need a change in the price of food and gasoline and in stopping inflation, if you believe that the American impossible dream can be reaffirmed to that possible dream derived from the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, then you must vote. If you believe that we are not ready to surrender our friendship with Canada, Mexico, South Korea, Japan, Australia and the European Union and all free countries, (that we have led since 1945), then you must stand up, you must get your friends to vote as well. We cannot sit on the bench at this very important time; we must participate with vision and a national purpose. Please note that the Silicon Valley billionaire Peter Thiel, who is also the mentor and benefactor of Vice President JD Vance, has left the country because he now believes that President Donald Trump is an “anti-Christ”… Fact-check!
IMMIGRANTS
Now we need civility offered to all immigrants no matter what their status. They don't deserve to be starved, to be cruelly beaten, or to be killed in the streets. Our country was founded by immigrants, yet the President constantly, actually lies, about his so-called negative immigrant crusade. They are not more dangerous than the average American citizen. In fact, they commit fewer crimes than the average citizen. The divide and conquer tactics used by the President to make us fear the immigrant class just may end up costing us before this is over, probably $1 trillion in possibly unneeded spending. Billions going to ICE agents, billions going toward fancy cars, billions of no bid contracts on many of the detention centers and God knows what else. Seventy thousand ICE agents, unidentified, many with masks parading through the streets of America, pulling people out of cars because of how they look, invading churches and schools, that’s not America. Now dear reader, ICE agents are committing suicide and beginning to leave their posts out of frustration over their mission. Fact-check. Thousands of immigrants are detained improperly between 80 and 90-% have committed no crime whatso ever. Why are we yanking them out of jobs in many cases, jobs they have been in for more than 5 years? This is expensive and built on a dishonest premise. Fact-check!
BLACK, HISPANIC AND IMMIGRANT VOTING
If you believe that Blacks and Hispanics and other minorities should have full rights of voting, and if you believe that redistricting is wrong in high density minority neighborhoods and disagree with it, you must vote. Tennessee redistricting has already cost minority representation going to Congress. Texas and Florida have picked all Black and Hispanic heavily populated areas and targeted them with redistricting. Dear voter this is America, when you are an American citizen, you have a right to vote as much as the millionaire class. This right must not be taken away, and we must reinstitute the rule of law and have the honor and decency to let everyone that is eligible, to pursue their rightful franchise. And remember suggesting that there is a massive amount of illegal voters throughout the U.S. is a total fabrication. It is not happening now and hasn’t happened in the past. Don’t forget it’s a fabrication about immigrants illegally voting. Immigrants are not a threat in any way to fairness in voting. There are no facts, no evidence, and no proof offered that immigrants are in the voting booth. History has shown that in the past fifty years there are less than a dozen or two. Fact-check!

AMERICA, HAS GOD SHED HIS GRACE ON THEE?
If we believe in the rule of law outlined in our U.S. Constitution, if you believe that all men are created equal and have rights under our political foundation, then we must stand up, we must participate, we have no choice if we want to maintain our freedom and liberty. We must act at this moment to protect our children and grandchildren; we must set examples for them by condemning all the sad deaths and destruction as well as the mayhem and lies produced daily by this Administration. The French said it best “Qui ne dit mot consent”. Silence is consent.
According to polls over 25% of the MAGA followers are no longer supporters of this President. They should not stay home! They should join up with all voters seeking truth and fairness and bring back the rule of law. Party affiliation must be put aside, all for the good of our country and flag. Dear voter, we should all rediscover our true foundations by returning to the beginning and remembering our Founding Fathers and their willingness to give their power to the people through their elected representatives.

All truth seeking voters must lock arms patriotically to halt the un-American and anti-American factions that do not believe in the rule of law. The truth will make us free.
