This is not a game, this is a critical battle to maintain our voluntary leadership over the free world. We will all be judged on whether we stood for truth, the rule of law, and for common decency. Let’s restore virtue and righteous indignation to protect so many Americans that are stressed over the way they are being treated. Remember, without a vision, the people may perish.

Now, is the time for all good men and women to come to the aid of their country!

THE AUTHOR

I am writing this as an 89-year-old retired small businessman, an historian by education, a writer by avocation, and an Army veteran with two older brothers buried in Arlington National Cemetery. I am worried about our children and grandchildren. I have followed sports my whole life, I see our politics like a damn bowling tournament where half the time the MAGA bowler puts it in the gutter. Our past great political foundations have been abandoned as we now vacate our political core values. Now our past mainstream behavior literally falls off the shelf, replaced by MAGA’s demeaning, cynical and hostile actions. I do not believe that anyone, the poorest, those on Social Security, those in the middle class, those in the upper class, or billionaires, of good faith and of good patriotism should fail to take part in November 3rd to let our Founding Fathers know that when it really counted, we did stand at freedom’s gate.

QUALIFICATIONS TO BE IN THE TOP 55

It is estimated that there are over 1,000 billionaires in the U.S., and 125 of them are women. The moderate Democratic candidates are looking for unattached contributions and those wealthy Americans who have no ties to corporations or government contracts should consider giving. These candidates especially do not want those that may have taken a loyalty oath to the President instead of the U.S. Constitution. Nor do they need support from those who have earned their wealth from no-bid contracts. These are my opinions.

SEVEN PRIMARY TESTS TO QUALIFY

  1. Admittance that President Joe Biden won the 2020 Presidential election officially.

  2. A recognition that all American immigrants have a right to the U.S. rule of law. (16,000 American children that are citizens are in detention centers today!) Sad, but true.

  3. Embracing and proudly upholding the U.S. Constitution.

  4. We must control inflation, the price of food and the price of gas as a primary goal.

  5. No bid contracts must cease.

  6. Favoritism over our tax structure directed toward all billionaires must stop.

  7. A national debt, with deficits skyrocketing as we are now $40 trillion in debt, must be recognized.

OUR FOUNDING FATHERS

Who were those 55 Founding Fathers back in Philadelphia in 1787? They were all trying to save the country from the Articles of Confederation that were failing to be viable. George Washington was distressed over America's governmental plight. He called for a convention of America’s top wealthy and powerful men to meet in Philadelphia and search for new governmental remedies. You could say these men were the billionaire class of their time.

The meetings were held in Independence Hall, that hot summer, for three months of study to find a way out of the political difficulties they faced. They decided to study political philosophy, political history, as well as outcomes and failures of past governments. They were enlightened in their search for “a more perfect union” and they decided it should be of, by and for the people. That Constitution passed into law in 1789.

Would they have believed that the U.S. Constitution, so constructed would endure so many years later? Perhaps. But now as of 2026 there is stress politically in the United States as the bedrock of our Institutions seem to be crumbling under the threat of chainsaws and bulldozers being used instead of thoughtful consideration when attempting to improve our Institutions. Project 2025 and DOGE are causing rank mayhem and disruption in our body politic. Now the remaining Federal employees in our system will not give an opinion on their workplace, out of fear. This is America?

Our Founding Fathers were men of decency, enlightenment, spirituality and they were all committed to take a gamble. So, they gave the country over to the people, to create a just society. Now of course the bad news is we are being tested by MAGA politicians and TV and radio pundits who often lie, who use misinformation, disinformation, innuendo and exaggeration daily. It is causing chaos and strife in our society. The spirituality of our Founding Fathers has been abandoned. We now have a daily routine where powerful forces are trying to get even more power, more wealth and more retribution. This is not the American way. We now see agencies and institutions created with one thought in mind, loyalty to the President, not talent. We have seen the United States Supreme Court giving more power to the Unitary President concept. We see the Department of Justice and the FBI being an adjunct of the Executive branch. The rule of law is encumbered by matters of loyalty to the Executive branch. Our judicial system has to deal with time after time, cases that should never have been brought before a court.

DOMESTIC MADNESS

Our U.S. Treasury is stressed; deficit spending is literally beyond belief. We are already at $40 trillion in our National Debt. The President hands out no-bid contracts like sticks of chewing gum. He went to war with Iran on a whim because he was celebrating his so-called victory in Venezuela. He seems to be redoing the entire city of Washington DC using his own specifications, on what is good for our country and our traditions. “The people”, are given zero consideration in his many ventures. Nero would be jealous of our President’s power.

November 3rd, 2026, will be a contest of opinion in the marketplace and it will be critical. It is a strange case of the strong, many billionaires, the powerful, those who had huge tax breaks, those who have had no-bid contracts and those who have been paid for their extreme loyalty to the President. This clique of powerful billionaires intends to overwhelm a majority of Americans voters. The average American voter is upset over their tactics, they are upset over inflation, they are upset over the price of gas. They are tired of the judgment that the size of your wallet is what gives you power in the U.S. The people want to restore the rule of law and want to bring back decency and honor as qualifications for being a leader in our country. If you don’t believe me, just ask them! Polling suggests that as little as 30% of the voters approve of this unqualified Administration. An Administration that is grinding out ill-conceived political strategies seemingly on a daily basis.

The people must decide to seek vigorous and intensive change at the voting booth and to give a rebirth to the traditional, conventional U.S. Constitution.

All truth seekers, including some billionaires, must contribute according to their ability to give. We must not give in quietly as the very soul of America is being overwhelmed by cynicism and the pursuit of mad money.

If you believe in enlightened politics, if you believe in science, if you believe that our Earth is in danger over climate change, if you believe the rearrangement of vaccines using flim flam schemes is wrong then we must begin a new path back to political reality. Our U.S. Military has lost almost 15 of its top female Admirals, 20 top Black Generals, famous black soldiers’ photos have been removed from gravesite museums in Europe, the Smithsonian and the Pentagon. Transgenders will no longer be allowed to serve. Our soldiers have nowhere to turn as they look for justice over the quality of food, quality of water, a loss of toiletries, on their ships and aircraft carriers in the war zone. We have a tradition of treating our soldiers with honor and respect. Why are we losing that tradition? This is a grave error. Our four Military Academies are receiving instructions on a new teaching curriculum. This is nuts! Now the Department of Defense has no news conferences, and the Secretary of Defense has recently fired the editor of the Stars and Stripes (military newspaper). Is this America? A paper that I read for a year and a half in Europe when I was stationed in France in 1956 and 1957.

This November, money will play its usual part in the battle over ideas. In the primaries this summer many Democrats won unexpectedly even though the opposition had ten times more funding. For some peculiar reason many MAGA politicians are against assisting our citizens in finding medical coverage that is affordable. They do not care about the cost of gas, food and children’s going back to school supplies are now over 25% more costly because of tariffs.

Sadly, most sadly, we are losing our allies, we are losing our neighboring countries' friendship, we are losing NATO and the European Union. This President’s new loyalty extends to the leaders of China, North Korea, Russia and many past and arising potentates throughout the world. We should all be concerned about the friendships we are losing. And of course, more concerned about our President’s newly acquired friends.

The people must pray; the people must protest and follow the demand of George Washington in 1792 when he asked them to embrace patriotism for their country. His message in 2026? Restore checks and balances. Do not give in to power and money madness!

And for those cynics who have abandoned truth and are driven by the forces of political evil, power and money, we must educate them on what America has stood for these past 250 years.
