A Cruel Unusual and Lawless Racketeer? A Destroyer of Nations?
Every citizen must examine the damage being done to our country by Trump's immigration program. There are means to keep our borders safe. This is a ridiculous means; it should never have been allowed. Let's allow the judiciary to determine whether this new ICE institution has lost its reason for being. Injunctive relief seems to be a possibility to save our country from a Gestapo type of operation.
MY BLOG
I started my blog, Return to the Beginning.com, four years ago at age 85. I'm not in the best of health so in my mind I often think, “hey, this may be my last dying day declaration” As long as I live, I expect to continue my interest in American history and politics. Part of the reason is I'm a grandfather and I'm a veteran, and I worry about my children and grandchildren and all the children and grandchildren of the world. I worry about the situation in the United States military. My point is I have plenty of thoughts that I'd like to express over these issues. I think our political future is cloudy; wars and troubles abound. We must find a way out of this situation. I do not think that our President is up to the job of keeping us safe.
I've said this before and I'll say it again, Helen Miller, my 8th grade schoolteacher at a one room school taught the four of us in the eighth grade, the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. She made us memorize the Gettysburg address. She was intent and enforced the rule over the pledge allegiance to the flag every morning. She was a memorable human being. Her husband at age 51 died in February of my eight-grade year. But she still took us to Washington DC for our graduation present that Spring. We saw copies of all the famous documents, we climbed the Washington Monument, and experienced many other things. We were all impressed by what we saw in our capital. Since then, I have studied American history intently and politics even though my occupation was always connected with the Insurance Industry. I retired after selling my Independent Insurance Agency Corporation 15 years ago.
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP
President Donald Trump is the first president since 1945 that has rejected being the leader of the free countries of the world. In fact, he often demeans NATO, he demeans EU Countries and he demeans Canada. He has even demeaned Mexico, Italy and Spain He obviously has never read the book How to Win Friends and Influence People. He is the first president to suggest that his opponents, the Democrats, are "the enemy of the people". Dear reader, imagine you are the President of the United States on the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and rather than celebrate with the four living past presidents, you chose not to. It is because Trump considers all four living past presidents his enemies. That’s a ridiculous, harmful, and debilitating situation for our nation to be in. He is the first president to make several billion dollars while he is sitting in the White House. In July of 2026 Trump was the number one trader on Wall Street with 11,000 transactions from his corporate offices. He is the first president to be a four-time draft dodger and still think he can reorganize the greatest Army, Navy and Air Force in the world and tell it how to do its business. He changed the command center and he let go 20 high ranking generals in the process. He now is the first president to lower the morale of our forces by treating blacks, women, and transgenders like they don't belong, claiming they were promoted due to DEI. He is the first president to have a rap sheet, having been convicted 34 times of fraud when he was the candidate for his first term as president. He's the first president to have a family foundation closed down while he was president in 2019, by the Attorney General of New York. He was fined $2,000,000 and made to dissolve the foundation. He's the first president to defy judges and disobey judicial orders. He is the first president to dominate all majority MAGA Senators and Congressmen, and he overrides their position of oversight and appropriations. This results in him doing whatever he wants with the U.S. Treasury! Scary stuff? You betcha!
We are losing all of our friends in the free world because President Trump wants to cozy up to North Korea, China and Russia despite their authoritarianism. His relationship with Vladimir Putin, I can assure every American citizen, is causing Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, and Ronald Reagan to roll over in their graves. That is not to say all the other 12 president since 1945, wouldn't object to the relationship between President Trump and Vladimir Putin. What is the answer? The answer is reestablishing the U.S. Constitution especially on oversight and appropriations. Returning to the rule of law in every aspect of government is never a bad idea, is it?
OUR FINANCIAL SITUATION IN THE U.S.
We are 40 trillion dollars in debt and by the 1st of February 2027 that will easily be $41 trillion. Why doesn't anyone confront this situation? I have studied for 50 years the national debt in America. President Donald Trump has broken every record for his first six years as President exceeding $12 trillion under his watch. This is unsustainable, this will not fly. The reason it won't fly, is because we have no plan on how to reduce the national debt. Henceforth the debt service will be the largest item, over $1 trillion, coming out of our budget annually. This is a form of madness because he is giving out hundreds and hundreds of no bid contracts. He's giving credit card access to the U.S. Treasury to authoritarian friends. He set up ICE which is spending money irresponsibly in 100 respects! He uses no bid contracts on his detention centers. Some detention centers have already closed. For example, after spending over $2 billion on Allegator Alcatraz in South Florida, it has been closed down. Meanwhile the state government in Florida spent $200 million of its own money in setting up a program that didn't even last a year. Detention centers holding 90,000 people at certain times, 20% of them are American citizens under 17 years of age. This is deplorable, costly and needs attention.
USAID
USAID was set up in 1962 by John F. Kennedy to show the world through soft power that America had a heart and a soul and wanted to share in our good fortune economically. The aspect I will address is that of the American farmer growing the crops, which were turned into food biscuits, an easy form to serve starving children in poor countries.
Under Project 2025 and DOGE in February of 2025, JD Vance (who wrote the prologue to Project 2025), Russ Vought and Elon Musk leading the team to redo all of the “woke” institutions. One of their first targets in redoing institutions was USAID. In fact, they put a stop to all deliveries of food and closed down all medical clinics throughout the world, that were sponsored by the U.S. The results of their quick action was several really sad and disgusting things for those of us with a conscience. Within four months 500,000 starving children throughout the world died of starvation and lack of medical treatment. And the food that had already been paid for and grown by the American farmers, 500 metric tons, was incinerated. This is a disgrace because very few people seem to care about what their government has done. When you consider that in a four-year war in World War II, a little over 400,000 GI’s were killed in combat. Now we have witnessed over half a million children dying in a span of four or five months all because of USAID closing down. Now note that there will be many many more deaths of children throughout the world as a result of the American ignorance. Remember, soft power is good for America; it protects our reputation and our soul for giving. In 1962 our foreign affairs budget was 3% and last year it was under 1%. Does that indicate to you that we are a giving nation? For many citizens to complain that we're just giving money away to foreigners is a very sad interpretation. Remember in 1962 when this program was set up economists saw that every dollar spent on American farm grown food and medical clinics returned fifty cents through churning in the marketplace. So, the question is why would we give up on a program that helps the world? Now we may lose our reputation as a giving nation.
U.S. IMMIGRANTS – A TRILLION DOLLAR FIASCO?
In 2015 candidate for President of the United States Donald Trump made an announcement that he was going to run for president. He stated his agenda would be in correcting the "immigrant problem" because they were all murderers and rapists and were destroying America's domestic well-being. That dear reader is an exaggeration. Polls show that immigrants commit fewer crimes than the average American citizen. Think about it, immigrants know that committing crimes will get them sent back to their home country number one , and number two they have a legitimate reason for wanting to come to America. America is the land of the free and the home of the brave and a place where you can find a well paying job. My point is, candidate Donald Trump set up a premise of governing on a false foundation.
Remember authoritarians will often pick a group of people to use as a foil to divide and conquer the citizenry. In the case of Adolf Hitler in 1933, he decided to make the 500,000 Jewish citizens of Germany the target for everything wrong politically, philosophically and inclusively in the country of Germany. He repeated over and over again the need to correct the problem of the Jewish community. Now in America we are structuring an ICE institution that relies on the premise that most immigrants are here improperly. The structure of that agency is to be cruel, don't worry about legalities, don't wear identification, even though body cameras are installed do not use them. Now they're considering electric gloves to shock people as they are trying to arrest them. Has anybody considered what shock gloves will do to a heart monitor? The ICE agents are hired with very little training, a $50,000 bonus, fancy cars, orders to be aggressive and then hide after a shooting or a death so you won't be identified or interviewed by local police and local prosecutors. This is a form of madness that has to be stopped. Expenses for this creation that reminds many people of a Gestapo, is profoundly unjustified. In fact, if our president finishes this term a probable guess is ICE will have cost us over a trillion dollars. Dear reader, note well that when ICE agents are in a city, American citizens are afraid of ICE, not alleged criminal migrants.
What to do about this insanity? It is a broken program which means it is not working or solving the problems of immigrants. Immigrants have never been an overwhelming problem justifying this kind of cruelty. So, what to do when a legal problem is being used by an institution that is cruel, unusual and doing harm locally and federally? Then we must seek injunctive relief under the rule of equity. I'm not a lawyer, but I know that a law that is this destructive and this harmful should be addressed immediately. Every state Governor every state Attorney General every Mayor of major cities in the United States should demand injunctive relief from this terrible madness by ICE agents. Now studies show that even the ICE agents are uncomfortable. Suicide rates are up amongst the 70,000 agents, and many are questioning their mission.
This is not something that can last for two more years, we must begin redoing a disabling, incomprehensible, and mad program that was set up on a false foundation.

THE U.S. MILITARY
I am a veteran with two older brothers buried in Arlington National Cemetery, both of whom saw extensive combat. I was a draftee in France and Germany in 1956 and 7 and really enjoyed my stay in Europe as a clerk typist.
Now it's upsetting to see a four-time draft dodger, our president and a wizard, Pete Hegseth, all seem to think they know more about handling the military than anyone ever dreamed in our past history. How they obtained all this new knowledge about redoing the greatest military in the world is the question we must get answered. Now dear reader, if you are black, if you are a woman, if you are a transgender, you will now be looked at as an object derived from DEI and you must get a review even though you're a black three-star general. They also have changed completely the military command center which is now made-up of those officers that will look at the president first and the U.S. Constitution second. This is highly irregular they're even trying to make soldiers take performance enhancing drugs. They are causing an increase in suicides on aircraft carriers because of the low morale.
They seem to not realize that when Joseph Stalin purged his general staff in 1938 it deprived Russia in 1941 and resulted in them not being ready for the German invasion. Within weeks of invading Russia, the Germans had surpassed all of their supply lines and had to actually slow down the invasion. Fortunately the Russians got organized by October, however it was five months too late.
Now the president and Pete Hegseth want to change the curriculum of our four academies. They are searching for colleges and universities to help them change the ongoing American military methods at these academies. Will we now embrace a political right-wing military?
I watched the graduation class of West Point Academy this past June which was led by Pete Hegseth. The disturbing part of it was he seemed to be selling his God that he worships and seems to think that all the troops should follow that God. Now we see lawsuits all over the place from different religions. Since when do you join the army and have a religion imposed upon you? We are a democracy, not a theocracy.
ELON MUSK
Elon Musk was born in South Africa and is an American naturalized citizen. He is unquestionably an engineering genius, but he seems to have forgotten that when he was naturalized as a citizen of the United States, he took an oath to support the U.S. Constitution. Comparing him to Werhner Von Braun a Nazi rocketeer in 1945 who came to the United States, still as a young man and was incorporated into the American rocketeer program. In fact President John F. Kennedy appointed him as one of the moon program leaders. Remember Werhner Von Braun was a dedicated American citizen who believed in God. He knew science and he respected science.
Elon Musk became famous for his car corporation Tesla, building a very popular electric vehicle and doing an excellent job of that venture. He now has many space issues that he has accomplished, Starlink, SpaceX a travel program throughout space, many more objects in space that will assist the average American citizen. Starlink has been assisting Ukraine in intercepting missiles from Russia, but it is now being interfered with by actions taken by the U.S. military. What gives?
Unfortunately, Elon Musk was involved in the USAID program and DOGE. He started out in February of 2025 very enthusiastic, in fact he was on national television waving a chainsaw and acting as if he was about to go to work on destroying our institutions. Unfortunately, he did not go slowly and thoughtfully but went at high speed. One of the high-speed victims was the USAID food sitting in warehouses and on wharfs, 500 metric tons of biscuit type food grown by American farmers that was to end up in Africa but did not make it. Also, we had medical clinics overseas. These were all shut down and the food was never delivered, in fact it was incinerated. As a result, over 500,000 children in Africa died. Now because USAID is pulling its tent there will be many hundreds of thousands of additional deaths in the world.
His relationship with President Trump is peculiar because our President is anti-science, he calls climate change a hoax and is not willing to push vaccines to the entire population, letting them choose whether they want their children to be vaccinated.
Now Elon Musk is the number one contributor to the MAGA Republican party having spent over 350 million dollars so far this year going after Democratic political targets. He has hundreds of contracts with the U.S. government which makes one wonder, will $350 million make him richer in the giving? He definitely sees himself as an oligarch and he definitely, throughout the world prefers right-wing governments. FACT-CHECK.
We will know within a month or two whether his political strategies are working well for him and President Trump.
WHITHOUT A VISION THE PEOPLE MAY PARISH
We are running a political program for the midterm elections which emphasizes primarily the cost of food and gas being too high. My question now is, is this our only problem?
Dear reader we are no longer the leader of the free world. We now seem to be yawning over the deaths of 500,000 children by allowing their food to be incinerated instead of sent to Africa. This was food grown by the American farmer under USAID allowing 500,000 children to die needlessly is OK? We must remember there is much more to the election than the cost of food and the cost of gas. America is in a downspin of losing its soul and losing its mission and it no longer recognizes that we must return to the beginning.
Freedom and liberty is what was given to us 250 years ago. But in this year's celebration, especially at the White House, they have a boxing match on the White House lawn? There was hardly any mention by anyone about the colonists and about our Founding Fathers. The president had no interest in bringing us all together by inviting four living presidents to the White House. He had locked himself in, because he calls the loyal opposition in America the “enemy of the people”. I do not believe that this president has taken the time to study in depth those Founding Fathers who were the billionaire class of America in 1787 when they met in Philadelphia to construct a new form of government. They wanted a “more perfect union” made-up “of the people, by the people, and for the people”. They graciously and with decency gave up their power position as a gift to the American people.
If America no longer feels that their gift should be protected, then our future will be very cloudy. Let's not walk away from our love of freedom and liberty, instead we must seek a rebirth of our American spiritual credentials.
Our future must be preserved with an intensive study of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, and Ben Franklin as a group of enlightened brilliant politicians. America must celebrate these people. Americans must celebrate science, the arts and all religions.

The Jewish proverb states, “He who mocks the poor shows distain for their maker”.
Mohammed said upon the death of a person, “what good deeds go before thee?”
Dear voter, let's take back and treat honorably our gift from these past great Americans. They wanted us to represent unity, peace and to guard our freedom and liberty.
Our children and grandchildren will benefit if we protect what those Founding Fathers have given us. We will succeed if we return to the beginning and study and study some more, because we need a rebirth of that very beginning.
