America Failing? I say "No"!

We must condemn cults, conspiracy theories and those who want to make devils out of ordinary truth telling citizens. The voter gets what they deserve when they follow disinformation, innuendo, hate and lies into the voting booth.

Is authoritarianism captivating America? No, because it is being defeated by the voters.

Ex-President Trump lost his bid for a 2nd term in 2020. And he lost because the voters rejected his politics. There was a mountain of evidence that he lost fair and square—61 lawsuits confirmed it, many judged by his political appointees and eventually a 800-page book by the January 6th Congressional Committee (which I have read) left no doubt over what happened. However, the "big lie" still persists.

Adolf Hitler said in his book Mein Kampf:

"The great masses of people will more easily fall victim to a big lie than to a small one."

Thomas Jefferson said in 1826:

"There is not a truth existing which I fear, or would wish unknown to the whole world."

Now in the U.S., truth is often on the scaffold, tortured and battered but ultimately cannot be disguised by divisive politics and right wing T.V. and radio.

Plato said over 2,300 years ago, that, “democracies pass into despotism.” So is America ready to abandon our Flag and our Constitution for one man rule? Many Americans seem to believe that Victor Orban of Hungary and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin would be a better choice for America than President Joe Biden. C’mon, we must maintain the rule of law, instead of the rule of chaos that dictators bring to their citizens. The rule of suppression, divide and conquer and control over all means of communication, is in force. Political inmates occupy their prisons. We do not need that in our country.

Now we see the science over Covid being re-visited. With masking, social distancing, and vaccinations all being condemned. Radical views that criminalized our leaders who mandated safety behavior in an attempt to save lives is not uncommon. The extreme and the ridiculous are still successfully asserting ignorance over science. In 1809 smallpox vaccinations were mandated. In the past 100 years there has been common vaccinations heretofore not rejected. But because of negative propaganda over Covid, many folks have rejected vaccinations and died (mostly Republicans). How sad that politicians and right-wing radio and television have covered so much distortion over Covid that the U.S. leads the world with over a million Covid deaths. But for the negative brain washing, many could have survived. Our Founding Fathers had a lot of respect for science and there is virtually no evidence that they condemned it. The U.S. leads the world in Nobel prizes for Science. We cannot afford to dumb down our children in such an important area.

Yes, over a million deaths from COVID. Indeed, I believe COVID (need to check this) is the most devastating epidemic ever in America - far surpassing AIDS and the so called Spanish flu - and over a million deaths in a matter of years (whereas AIDS had terrible losses - 700,000? - but over 30 years). Social Media is partly to blame for theses losses as well. In fact, Jonathan Haidt has been researching social media and has now come to the conclusion that it is a CAUSE not just a correlation of violence and depression and even suicide (especially in teens and young people).

You have a great quote from Hitler: "The great masses of people will more easily…
