There is absolutely no way that illegal behavior and violators of oaths and pledges, should be silently tolerated by honest citizens that embrace the honor and dignity of their laws. We should not surrender the lessons and examples of how George Washington governed, especially when he did it without any dictatorial ambitions. We can never accept ridicule and lies about our own form of government.
Dear Reader, especially new ones to my blog. I will be 87 years old in March. I am an amateur writer and a former small business owner. I have children and grandchildren. I love my country and our flag. I was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1956 and really appreciated my 2 years of service in France and Germany. I have 2 brothers buried in Arlington Cemetery. My oldest brother was decorated for valor in World War II. It is clear to me he fought for the U.S. Constitution, our flag and our country. There is absolutely no chance he would have fought for an autocrat or a dictator.
In this Presidential election cycle, 2024, America is forced to make choices over our political future. On the one hand, America is breaking records with over 14 million new jobs, unemployment below 4%, gas prices lower, the stock market breaking records and crime throughout the country marginally down. Inflation is steadily receding!
Negatively on the other hand, we have Fox “News” and other right-wing cable stations showing immigrants on the Mexican border almost nightly. Meanwhile, crime of every type is depicted as out of control in America. Why all of the exaggeration? Because it sells soap and pillows to those citizens who have fallen for the big lie and other weird conspiracy theories. They have progressed negatively toward accepting autocratic behavior from politicians. A lot of these television broadcasts are repeated on Moscow television to denigrate America. Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden’s son, is frequently shown as a common criminal, overstating the seriousness of his crimes. It is really shameless.
Half the American public seem to be on the periphery of believing that the above cited chaos is a political threat to our democracy. Is that a correct observation? It is time to address the massive disinformation, lies and distortions that are affecting and bending our core political values toward an abandonment of our U.S. Constitution and the rule of law. C.P.A.C., representing the Republican Party for funding, has made it clear that in their opinion, Viktor Orban of Hungary and Vladimir Putin of Russia are two better leaders than duly elected President Joe Biden. (Check that out dear reader!)
So now Wall-Streeters and many billionaires seem to be ready to join the folks leaning toward autocracy. They had better study what happened in Russia and Hungary to the wealthy who disagreed with the political leadership of their country. Dictators have little patience with those with whom they disagree. That political behavior should never be allowed in the United States. We are grounded in the rule of law, the U.S. Constitution, our flag and the peaceful transference of political power. Heretofore, we have never tolerated potentates or self-appointed autocrats. Why start now? Our mainstream political values, our core values right now only need a reaffirmation of patriotism. We must renew, respect and honor all of our institutions. Very simply, we must bless and keep our institutions viable.
We are a country of immigrants, nearly 1 million at our borders in 2023. Meanwhile, Chinese immigrants are trying to move to the west coast of the U.S. and Canada. Are any immigrants flocking to the borders of Hungary and Russia? Not hardly. Finland recently closed its borders because of the rush of Russian immigrants. Many citizens of autocratic countries want to leave, thus voting with their feet, on what kind of government they really want.
We must note why and how George Washington became “the father” of his country. Not enough civics is taught in America to appreciate the positive values of George Washington. At an early age he was an officer in the colonial army for the British. He married one of the richest women in the Colonies. He had many thousands of acres and 300 slaves, (100 of which had no jobs). He had no history of cruelty or rash behavior towards his slaves. We all must remember slavery was part of human existence throughout the world for thousands of years. As the 13 colonies in 1776 became frustrated and hostile to George III of England, George Washington began emerging as a leader of men and when the war ended, he was superior in all of his military service. When the best army in the world was defeated by the colonists, Americans had no idea of how to govern their new freedom. They started out with the Articles of Confederation which failed within a 5-year period for lack of a military, lack of a common currency, a too loosely knit governing body with little means of enforcement. George Washington was especially distraught over this failing. He and many other leaders decided to remedy the situation by creating the U.S. Constitution, taking 3 months in the summer of 1787. Those 55 men arrived at their more perfect union by creating a document for the people. Their genius was in giving the people self-government. Of the people, for the people, and by the people. The Founding Fathers wanted no part of autocrats or dictators having a part in their new government,
So now, where are we? Are we tired of democracy? Three colleges in the United States, by their actions, have shown an acceptance of autocratic behavior. At the January 6, 2021, validation of the Joe Biden Presidency, 8 U.S. Senators and 144 Congressmen actually voted no. They accepted Donald Trump’s “big lie” even though there was no facts or evidence to sustain their vote. Should we just let these no votes pass unnoticed? Heck, no! We are a country of laws and we must enforce oaths and pledges to our Constitution and our flag. In doing so, let’s ask and demand answers from C.P.A.C., Donald Trump and all big lie believers, political and non-political;
1. Do you believe Viktor Orban and/or Vladimir Putin would be a better leader for America than properly elected Joe Biden?
2. Does Donald Trump believe his mentor Vladimir Putin has better governmental skills than George Washington or Ronald Reagan? (Dear Reader, we must demand an answer on this question in particular!)
3. We must continually ask just exactly where was this big lie hatched and by whom? The voter is entitled to know, even though the answer seems perfectly clear.
Let’s get these questions answered once and for all, before God and all the angels.
Those 55 men in Philadelphia wouldn’t want their creation, trashed by the politically corrupt behavior of many. We must all rally around our duly elected President and our flag. We must do it for our children and grandchildren, with vigor and patriotism that was first displayed by our Founding Fathers.
We simply cannot abandon our great past and turn over our country to a strange breed of aggressive malcontents. Why? Because we have so many more improvements to make in our own country while the world still depends on the United States’ moral suasion to guide them in their democracies.
For those religious readers please note well that God admonished man to choose no other god before Him. May that same God return moderate behavior to the American political scene.
