USA/Losing Too Many Friends and Allies

We must embrace traditional mainstream core values and stop the new ideology that wants to stamp out reason. The MAGA faithful believe they can remake our country by destroying “wokesim”. What is a “woke”? I think it is someone who simply wants to do the best for the most of us, not for the few of us as Project 2025 seems to hold.

Oh really?

The United States and its tariff policies may cost us established and fundamental business relationships worldwide. We had better listen to Warren Buffet, who at 94 recently said trade should be a friendly exchange of goods between nations. He said, trade is a fair way of exchange, helping everyone in the process. Meanwhile, tariffs improperly used, can cause division and too often chaos. They hurt planning and predictability.

It is required that a mutual structuring of trade, civilly arrived at should be embraced. I make something in my country you can use, and you are good at something in your country that I can use.  We don’t grow bananas and coffee, but I can take those products in and sell you cars and farm equipment. And with tariffs it should never be a constant attempt at one-upmanship that leads to disagreements and counter attacks. Countries that overplay their hand impair trade. We must make up our minds in the United States, do we want chaos or predictability? Do we want friendship between nations or inferior and superior positions jockeying about? We are the largest and wealthiest consumer nation in the world. We buy everybody's wine, toys, tools; we sell farm equipment and soy beans. If Japan has tariffs to protect just one or two thousand acres of fruit farms, why not free up that land for other purposes and buy American apples at a cheaper price?

Tariffs in the past have often had disastrous political and economic results that should be avoided. Every country needs more friends not fewer. So, we are losing international relationships due to tariffs. Canada no longer considers us a reliable neighbor. The attempt at charging them so much because of what they sell us has resulted in Canadians suspending their travel to the United States by 70% or more according to polls. Also, right now tourist travel to the U.S. from free world countries is down 10% and that number is increasing. Who wants to vacation in a country full of chaos and mayhem? Especially when we now see arrests made of foreign students in broad daylight by masked Federal Agents. Now because of Project 2025 our National Parks will have staffing problems.

Now dear reader a heads up on our immigrant management. The way we are handling immigration now seems to be an all out attack on any and all, too often using the shotgun approach. This will affect our farms, our restaurant needs and our hotels and of course yard and snow service. It’s a sum game. Tariffs over incoming goods, and too many restrictions over immigrants just might plague us and cause economic disturbances unforeseen. Remember; act in haste, repent at leisure.

America pay attention! Now President Donald Trump, Elon Musk and Project 2025 are going to attempt to destroy more than 100,000 “weeds” (our Federal Employees). They want to dismember or cancel Institutions that the “wokes” created in the past. How is that working out? Well, the death of African children from hunger and lack of medicines is now an absolute certainty, because we are going to dissolve USAID. It was set up in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy. It has been good for the American farmer. But now Bill Gates recently stated that because of the cancellation of USAID by Elon Musk it has created a situation where the the richest man in the world will make the poorest children of the world starve to death. The most vulnerable will be abandoned for food and medicine from the United States. Meanwhile Robert Kennedy Jr, head of HHS, the nephew of President John F. Kennedy, has been strangely silent over his uncle's USAID being terminated. Dr reader, the shutdown of USAID was so clumsy that food is reported to be rotting in warehouses, in different parts of the world. So we have created unfed children as the new way of doing business in the United States of America? And punish our farmers along the way?

Meanwhile, Vice President JD Vance can tell two Catholic Popes about handling immigrants. He claims they are four or five rungs down the ladder as far as needs. Dear reader, this is goofy stuff.  Now Pope Leo XIV disagrees and put it in writing, just this last February as he disagreed with current U.S. policies on immigrants. And before he died, Pope Francis made it clear that he did not like our immigration policies either. Dear reader, especially Christians; is abusing immigrants, hurting starving children who need medicine from the richest country in the world a good thing? MAGA Republicans don't seem to care if they are being led by their leaders possibly to the very gates of Hell. Remember, Christ firmly stated, " what ye do for the least of my brethren you do for me".

So dear reader, between closing down our Federal institutions, tariffs, and our Immigrant policies is it any wonder that the U.S. is no longer a fair representative of the Free world? Australia, Canada and recently Hungary and Serbia, during protests in the streets, have held up signs condemning President Donald Trump in their protests. Fact check, fact check. I like freedom, I like liberty, I like the rule of law and I hope everyone in the United States also admires our traditions. Please remember up until January 20, 2025 Americans could calmly rely on their sure thing, the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law. Now we have judges being arrested in Wisconsin and the Mayor of the largest city in New Jersey, arrested and handcuffed, for seeking to get information from an ICE building.

There are 40,000 Christian sects in the world. Fact check! Now the Christian Nationalists in America, the authors of Project 2025 no longer like our Institutions, including some areas of the U.S. Constitution. They embrace the concept of the Unitary Executive. Folks, this is nuts! My Bible says to honor your government and pay your taxes. At least that is what Saint Peter said in the New Testament. I believe strongly at 88 years old, as a supporter of the U.S, Constitution, our Founding Fathers and our U.S. Supreme Court, that the rule of law dominates and as I said before, it should be the 11th commandment! I think it is someone who simply wants to do the best for the most of us, not for the fewest of us. DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) are simply ways to get all Americans at the economic table. Cynics have created this fiction that unqualified people under DEI are grabbing jobs they don't deserve. They use the standard trick, if something is abused 2 or 3 percent of the time, they apply it to the entire program. This is total unadulterated BS! Dear reader if you love your country, don't fall for it! Now a very unfortunate DEI matter has happened under this new Administration. At the Defense Department they are reviewing all Generals, especially the blacks, all female transgender field grade officers, and rearranging the deck chairs on the 4,000 transgenders in the military. They seem to think that any promotions of blacks, women, or any transgenders is because of DEI. They took down photographs of famous black warriors like the Tuskegee Airman and Jackie Robinson who was a lieutenant in WWII. We should all be outraged. Because of this misapplication of a program. Now they are contemplating not accepting any more transgenders and they may take away some of their benefits for those that remain. Remember they have no examples of minorities, females or black generals who have been promoted via DEI. I am a proud veteran draftee, I have two older bothers buried in Arlington National Cemetery. And under my first amendment rights, the reorganization so blindly done at the Defense Department hurts our military morale. It is weird, goofy and and cost more money to be this misinformed over social concepts.
