A Defense of Truth Will Restore Freedom in America

We want to practice what our Founding Fathers gave us via the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution; it is called freedom and liberty! We must keep our American political values in place or our children and grandchildren will suffer. You must remember dear reader, that freedom meant so much to so many early Americans that Patrick Henty preceded the Declaration of Independence with this command, “give me liberty or give me death.”

These three areas and many more must be confronted!

RUSSIA/RUSSIA

Dear reader Donald Trump has had Vladimir “Putin Envy” for over a decade. He used 100 Russian operatives in his presidential election against Hillary Clinton to help secure the win. This is according to the Mueller report.

Remember how the Soviet Union and communism got started. They used this method of controlling the public, considering their citizens to be “dupes, stooges and willing idiots”. They used lies, disinformation, and fear tactics to control loyalty. Then after 40 years of occupation of eastern Europe (after WWII ended), along comes President Ronald Reagan in 1984. He was instrumental in meeting with Premiere Mikhail Gorbachev and negotiating a tearing down the Iron Curtain and the Berlin Wall. Russia did make an attempt thereafter to embrace democracy, but Vladimir Putin won the presidency in 2004 and incrementally dismembered the fledgling democratic system of government in Russia. He slowly but surely took over every single institution, and not by using reason. Many oil and natural gas industry leaders in Russia ended up in Siberia or committing “suicide” out of six story buildings.

During Trump's first term as president of the United States, in May of the very first year of his presidency, he had the Russian ambassador and several Russian operatives in the White House, and this is a quote he said to them “I've taken care of everything.” He also only invited in the Russian press, no American press was allowed in the White House. And then incident after incident our president has defended Vladimir Putin on every action he takes. In the case of the Ukraine war, our president declares it was caused by President Joe Biden and that if Trump had been president, it never would have happened. Is this a true statement? No! Now dealing with Putin recently in Alaska, attempting to settle the Ukrainian war, our president actually laid out a red carpet for his mentor. Meanwhile when meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine several times, he did not lay out a red carpet. Instead, Trump, Rubio and Vance chastised and belittled the President of Ukraine on live television. It was embarrassing to watch! Treating an ally with such disdain. Dear reader, Russia is treated with respect by these misguided bullies while Ukraine, seeking to maintain freedom, gets very little.

Remember as I've spoken before in my blogs, President Ronald Reagan in his second term as president was instrumental in pressuring the Russians to destroy the Iron curtain and take down the Berlin Wall. We must not overlook also that in 1986 he sent Stinger missiles to the Afghan freedom fighters so they could defend themselves against the Russians. The Russians were in Kabul supporting a communist takeover of that area. Now as President Zelensky is asking for Tomahawk missiles to fight the Russians, our president says, “no, I talked to Vladimir Putin, and he doesn't like that idea.” Fact check!

President Donald Trump is the first American president since 1942 that has no interest whatsoever in being the leader of the free world. In fact, in the war between Russia and Ukraine president Trump has constantly struck a neutral position if not one leaning closer to the Russian position. All of this leads me to one conclusion; our president is more interested in the friendship of Vladimir Putin and Viktor Orban and other authoritarians than he is in commanding freedom loving countries. He wants more power. He wants more money. He wants more revenge. Is this really good for America? Do we really want an Executive so short-sighted on our upcoming 250th celebration of the Declaration of Independence to be in charge of our society? I can't believe what I saw on television as Vice President JD Vance and Elon Musk traveled to Europe last November 2024 seeking to support authoritarian governments in several European Union nations. I can't believe that just this past month Vice President JD Vance and the Speaker of the House (really the speaker of the White House) were in Indiana threatening Republican State Senators over the redistricting of voting areas, threatening them in various ways if they did not vote for the position of President Donald Trump. Our president denied that he got involved in the Indiana affair. Then, Indiana Republicans reported that he did call and he did make threats. We don't do that kind of stuff in America. Now we have MAGA House and MAGA Senators violating their pledges and their oaths to the flag and to the U.S. Constitution. I will talk about what we can do about this in section three.

IMMIGRANTS/IMMIGRANTS

In 2015 Donald Trump came down the escalator in his hotel announcing he was going to run for the presidency of the United States. That same night he made it clear he was going to run against all immigrants. He called them murderers, rapists and mentally diseased. He made it clear that he was running to take on the immigrant class in America. He decided to gain power by “divide and conquer” using the immigrants as scapegoats.

Is he fulfilling his promise of being negative against all immigrants? You betcha! And wanting to be even more negative.

Remember we are a nation of immigrants. Yes, there has been times (a few), when immigrants were unwelcome, but in today's world with all the needs on farms, in restaurants and in factories and other positions in the U.S. immigrants have played a large part in helping America thrive. The biggest lie told by Fox News pundits and the president of the United States is over the alleged criminality of immigrants. They harp on it and harp on it. Dear reader, we can't go on this way, because all polls, support this fact. So please note well, that American citizens commit more crimes in our country than the immigrant class. Fact check! It's time to stop the BS and the division and the hate just to make political points and sell soap. We must remain a country of fellowship between each other, especially in the U.S. Senate. Now we are divided, and believe me if we remain divided, we will fail! We must stop the immigrant class from being tormented by the ICE agents who have received a $50,000 bonus and now wander around, always wearing masks, looking for “brown people”, often in places where these ICE agents have no business going. Dear reader, you must know the story of the helicopter hovering over an apartment complex in Chicago, with search lights going and rousing the tenants out of the building and into the streets at 2:00 am. Remember these 200 people were in their underwear and pajamas. Children scared to death. These tenants were all examined after the quasi arrest. How many undocumented immigrants were found in that raid? Try zero! This isn't the America I've known for 88 years. Senseless arrests, prisons being built in America that are worse than anything that Adolf Hitler ever built, innocent Americans being sent to San Salvador prisons. ICE agents in America often proudly use Gestapo tactics. There are hundreds of Americans who have witnessed this outrageous behavior.

Now dear reader, most of these Gestapo like procedures seem to be blessed by Donald Trump and too often he denies they even took place. And then he throws in a strange accusation, that he took over his duties as president from two incompetent presidents, Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Fact check!

If we tolerate this, we get what we deserve. We have lost our way in America. The immorality is really and truly a disgrace. Common decency laughed at. The president of the United States thinks civility is a sign of weakness. It is a shameful position we have now taken in America. And it is really hard to believe that many MAGA supporters are hardly offended by what is taking place right before their eyes. And those that are MAGA Christian Nationalists seem to forget that God and all the Saints are witnesses to this tragedy. I want these Christian Nationalists to read two appropriate parables by Christ, “The Rich Man and Lazarus” in Luke, and “The Sheep and the Goats in Matthew…

TRUTH AND OVERSIGHT

During the four years of Trump’s first term, the Washington Post and the Toronto Star documented his lies as president. Dear reader, fact check and fact check again! He told over 30,000 lies in his first term. Why do I bring this up? Because it's a constant, constant, constant repetition right now. The lies are so common that the fact checkers seem to have given up. No country will survive a constant deluge of disinformation and lies coming from the Executive branch and many many of his appointees. This isn’t Russia! This is America. Truth has always been our final strength in settling disputes. We had better stick to truth if we are to retain our freedom as a nation.

Is our president adopting the Russian method of choosing oligarchs and department heads? The Russians used the standard of surrounding themselves with “dupes, stooges and willing idiots” whose first qualification is loyalty. Yes, loyalty over knowledge, over expertise. Any MAGA Republicans that attempt to escape that position of loyalty will be threatened and threatened severely. Six American politicians in the House and Senate, all veterans of the military, went on national television recently and simply stated, that military personnel do not have to follow illegal commands. This was construed to be an action against the Executive branch! Especially by Fox News pundits. So, the following day president Donald Trump suggested these people deserve the death penalty. Imagine exercising our First Amendment right to speak out and speak the truth and then be threatened with death? Come on, come on this is America! My First Amendment right I plan on using! I'm 88 years old and there is no way that I will give up my right to speak truth to power. Every American has that same right, and we no longer should sit on the bench. This is not a spectator sport. To maintain democracy, we have to all get off the porch, get off the bench, get off our duffs and confront those groups such as the Heritage Foundation, Project 2025, some members of SCOTUS, the Federalist Society, CPAC and of course several Fox News pundits. They all tolerate a Unitary Executive that has abused his office. Now the first year of his second term in office we have estimates of our president adding to his personal wealth by $5 billion. Please fact check these things! We have a president who gave $40 billion to the authoritarian Javier Milei in Argentina so that he could help his crony win the election last month. What’s missing in all of this? Argentina is now selling more soybeans to China than the American farmer. The $40 billion given to Argentina is taxpayer’s money, and the President never asked us before giving the $40 billion away. That money represents more than was spent in World War II on the Manhattan Project that built the atomic bomb! Fact Check this, fact check it! Then remember that the Argentine farmers are outselling American farmers who are now sitting on tons of unsold soybeans. As a gift to placate the American farmer in November, President Donald Trump took $12 billion from the already appropriated President Joe Biden Infrastructure Bill. Many American farmers interviewed said they don’t want the damn money, they want to sell their products. Note well dear reader, the farm problems are only beginning. Crops grown for USAID are no longer going to be used as foreign aid. Our SNAP program, feeding America’s starving children is on its way to being stopped. And of course that will hurt the American farmer. Remember, sadly, over half of the American farmers voted for Donald Trump.

Is our president the kind of dangerous individual that George III of England was in 1776? No, he is different by the rule of five times worse because he considers the loyal opposition in the United States to be the enemy of the people. Can you imagine the 55 Founders of our U.S. Constitution hearing a remark like that in today's world? Our president discounts earlier presidents Washington, Lincoln, Ronald Reagan and all moderate classes of American politicians that want to secure compromises, transparency, and accountability in our political activities. He seems to have no interest in sharing power. In fact, he has made it clear that he is the one man, one power president of our country. Forget the U.S. Constitution, it’s just a piece of paper. Now oversight, checks and balances are not allowed to move against the Unitary Executive because of his expanded right to have immunity in office.

Our president gets up every morning and adds to that list of his enemies in America. He wants to go after them using retribution and revenge. If that person targeted by the president escapes any conviction, he simply finds a new way to charge them more than once. He seems to think it is ok to chase his fellow Americans and the loyal opposition into courts using specious charges. And to make matters worse, Pam Bondi, our Attorney General seems to turn away from the U.S. Constitution and do the bidding of the Executive branch. Will he keep going using our legal system incessantly? With Pam Bondi as our Attorney General, it seems that if he orders it, she will fall in line to please her boss instead of following the U.S. Constitution. Oops!

So that's where we are, the rule of law seems to be on vacation. Finally let's expose once again the fiasco over food aid at USAID. The food was authorized and funded to give to African starving children. Along comes Elon Musk, JD Vance, and Russ Vought, from project 2025 and they all clamped down on any delivery of that food. The result? Way over 150,000 African children starved to death within two months. Fact check this and remember, if we allow politicians with egos the size of basketballs but hearts smaller than a golf ball to lead us, as I have said before, then we deserve what we get as a result. It is embarrassing and disgusting! Heartless ideologues practicing their evil corruption of DOGE! How come dear reader, there has been no oversight, no investigation of these sad and outrageous outcomes that could have been avoided?

We are now losing a friendly neighbor, Canada, who we have partnered with politically and economically for over 150 years. Now because of President Donald Trump and his suggestion that Canada become the 51^st state, or suffer more in American tariffs, the Canadians have become insulted. And they even suggested in November, that they will talk to China as a more predictable trading partner. And then note this, Canada is 4 times smaller than America, but in 2025 they have added more to their workforce than the United States has! Meanwhile they have stopped traveling to the United States. New York, Las Vegas, and other U.S. vacation areas are now down over 50%. Their political leaders are asking their citizens to spend their money in Canada. Now dear reader, to make matters worse, China is pushing a $14,000 electric automobile. Is there a possibility that Canada would switch to that car from those made in America along with some parts in Canada? They may have many American automobile plants in Canada at risk. We will know within a year whether our number one trading partner, our friendly neighbor, for 150 years will leave our sphere of influence. We are witnessing sad and goofy stuff being thrown at a former loyal trading partner. Unfortunately, it appears MAGA loyalists are not disturbed by the Executives behavior.

Another area that we will have to confront is the AI revolution going on in America as we speak. Six or seven billionaire-controlled companies and executives are crafting positions over AI. Are they keeping the American public informed, educated and persuaded that AI is a practical new institutional good idea? Wall Street has suggested here and there that there is a chance of losing 20 million American jobs to AI. Believe it or not, some companies are already asking President Donald Trump to underwrite and insure, through the U.S. Treasury, to cover their investment in AI. Oops! In other words, dear reader, they want a failsafe investment that the U.S. taxpayer will underwrite if there is a failure.

So now the president attacks DEI (diversity equity and inclusion) as if it's some evil concept. Dear reader, this is a dramatic, ill gotten, ill-conceived turn away from the valid consideration that DEI really is. Our president plans on punishing all universities, all corporations, all school systems and the military who dare continue the usage of DEI. He will withhold federal funding from those who continue to use DEI. This is beyond nutty. You talk about thought control! You talk about misguided ideology, that is guaranteed to torment instead of helping Americans. Again, he uses divide-and-conquer tactics constantly. We want fellowship in America. We want to practice what our Founding Fathers gave us via the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution; it is called freedom and liberty! We must keep our American political values in place or our children and grandchildren will suffer. You must remember dear reader, that freedom meant so much to so many early Americans that Patrick Henty preceded the Declaration of Independence with this command, “give me liberty or give me death.”

Now we are too often controlled by a cadre of appointees using little expertise or reasoned logic in practically every agency. Loyalty trumps expertise and knowledge in these appointments. Our Unitary WIZARD does not recognize the Senate’s right to “advise and consent”. Our president does not care about those legal judgments in the U.S. Constitution. He does not seem to have a desire to create a just society.

I am a God-fearing American who loves our flag, the rule of law and I retain a great admiration for our early American Founding Fathers. In fact, when I started my blog in February 2023, I named that blog “Returntothe Begining.com”. I still believe that if we return to the beginning and have faith in our Founding Fathers, we can restore freedom and liberty out of chaos and mayhem. Every patriotic American should reject any person who has a desire to be a dictator.

I am 88 years old as I have said before and not in the best of health. But dear reader, I have zero intention of being quiet. Silence is a form of consent. Every truth seeking American who loves their children and grandchildren must join me in keeping this country a safe place for them.

Let us find and practice a new rebirth and a reaffirmation of fellowship amongst each other, no matter our differences, no matter our party affiliation, no matter what religion.

We now must pray for each other! We must return to the rule of law, to transparency and accountability. And for those who only want more power, lets give them more prayers and heartfelt pity for being anti-American and un-American.

A final warning: by January 2027 our national debt will be over $40 trillion, and there is nothing on the American table to address this important political issue. But there is a possibility, a very strong possibility, that the president and his MAGA appointees will add to the $40 trillion between now and 2027.

We absolutely, for the sake of our children and grandchildren, we must get our head out of the sand. Patriotism and the reality of our situation must come forth!
