Give me Liberty or give me Death

Writer's picture: Gregory N. AustinGregory N. Austin

Dear reader, dear voter! This is not an issue of the price of eggs, it is not the border, it is not immigrants; All of these things can be dutifully and politically overcome. But if we lose our U.S. Constitution, we lose our very political fabric to the forces of power and money. This is exactly what George Washington, and our founding fathers wanted us to avoid so many years ago.

Trump and George III
Do we really want to give up on the country that leads the free world?

Who would believe that citizens in America in 2024 would find it necessary to repeat the above quote made by Patrick Henry of Virginia in 1775?

I am 87 years old and not in the best of health, but from the bottom of my patriotic heart, I refuse to die losing what George Washington and those 55 founding fathers gave us 248 years ago.

Dear voter, a wannabe dictator, with threats of revenge or retribution against ordinary opposition should not be tolerated. That's not America!

Plato said over 3,500 years ago that "democracies pass into despotism.” This does not have to happen to us in America, we can have a reaffirmation of the rule of law, and a new birth of freedom. We do not have to give up or surrender our country to any authoritarian seeking power and money, especially one who has lied 30,000 times (fact checked) to get this far in his political life.

Ex-president Donald Trump is now asking his cult followers to meet him at the gates of hell where to enter that place of evil, you must accept his lies, his deception, his hostility and his mayhem. Instead dear reader, embrace truth and love to escape such a pathetic tragedy. The minister Tryon Edwards said over 150 years ago, “hell is truth seen too late, duty neglected in its season.”

Dear voter, ex-President Donald Trump calls Vladimir Putin a "genius" and openly boasts about having talked with him by telephone recently! Huh? What happened to George Washington and the Founding Fathers, do they no longer matter? Dear reader as you know, this man is a convicted felon, a racketeer who sells Bibles made in China, he sells $100,000 watches, he sells shoes, and pieces of a cut up suit to his followers. His rich influential followers are lining up, paying billions to find favor with him and to possibly follow him off the cliff as they forsake their duty to flag and country. Are we duty bound to pray for these followers who have fallen for political deception? You betcha! Do they really believe that the 2020 election was stolen? Dear voter, no legal facts or evidence has been shown in a courtroom that such a thing happened. Historians are going to laugh at this one.

The United States of America, after 248 years, does not have to follow these misguides into oblivion where mayhem and chaos will reign. A place where dysfunction, deception, and lies will rule the political environment, (exactly like Vladimir Putin's scheme of governance). Dear reader, does this mean that Donald Trump wants to imitate his mentor? You betcha!

Those who care for truth, those who have their country and their flag in their heart must resolve to maintain our political Bible, the United States Constitution.

Dear reader, dear voter! This is not an issue about the price of eggs, it is not the border, it is not immigrants; All of these things can be dutifully and politically overcome. But if we lose our U.S. Constitution, we lose our very political fabric to the forces of power and money. This is exactly what George Washington, and our founding fathers wanted us to avoid so many years ago.

Elon Musk is a naturalized American citizen who took an oath to defend the U.S. Constitution, not a person. He is the second richest man in the world, who is now dumping millions of dollars into the Trump campaign. (By the way, Vladimir Putin is the richest man the world having politically taken every drop of oil, gas and other natural resources from the Russian citizens.) Remember, Elon Musk has 12 children. What kind of environmental world do you think he wants to leave them? Because he now accepts Trump's description of climate change as a hoax. This is interesting because hurricanes and rain bombs as bad as ever or worse have blasted Florida and the south east United States recently. Don't forget, the Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis prohibits the words "global warming" or "climate change" from appearing on any Florida state stationery. There was a recent poll in Florida that suggested because of the hurricane situation, 15% of those interviewed would like to leave the state. As far as global warming, the State of Nevada broke a heat record for the month of July in 2023. In July 2024 that record was broken, and several weeks ago the record high in October was broken in Las Vegas. California is suffering through forest fires each year and 2024 has been one of the worst ever. So for political reasons, it seems to me the politicians call it all a hoax. I believe that Elon Musk is a genius engineer, but buying into the hoax for a better political position for himself. I think its a really sad event that will prove harmful to our children and grandchildren in the near future. Remember dear reader and voter, dysfunction, deception and disinformation has been running extremely high from the Wall Street Journal, Fox News, and the New York Daily Post with the permission of the owner Rupert Murdoch. He has even suggested Fox News should maintain its peculiar one sided political views. He is 92 years old and wants the message to be the same so he can keep the billions rolling in. He is also a naturalized American citizen who took an oath to defend the U.S. Constitution and not a person.

So I stand by my wish, "give me liberty or give me death"!

Dear reader, do as Saint Peter asked, “honor your government, pay your taxes and pray for those in authority” you won't be sorry!

May the United states be blessed by a just God and the wisdom of truth seeking citizens!
