The Big Seven Dangers in the U.S.

SCOTUS must not abandon their duty and get off the absolute and profoundly silly version of their interpretation of the Constitution using originalism. They seem to want to go back to the ways and days of our original Constitution. Does that mean slavery was improperly stopped? Does that mean people without real estate cannot vote? Does that mean women should never have been given the right to vote? Does that mean Social Security coverage should never have been authorized? No dear reader, we must accept the natural expansion of the U.S. Constitution progressing just as science and inventions have progressed. Remember, our Founding Fathers did not want one man rule, they wanted checks and balances. They wanted a three-part equal government. It should be noted that members of the U.S. Supreme Court did not need a law degree!

The first American president since 1942 to reject the duty of leading the free world!

Dear Reader, I am 88 years old, a grandfather, a retired business owner, a writer by avocation, and I was a history major in college. I am an Army veteran with two older brothers buried in Arlington National cemetery. I am writing because I love my country, I love our flag, and the U.S. Constitution. I say this before God and all the Saints; I will not die silent over the MAGA folks who are on a trip politically that is so negative that I will continue to comment on what they say and do. I believe silence is consent!

So, let's examine our current president’s seven danger points that are leading us away from a just society.

1 – POWER/MONEY

Our president has no interest in overseeing the free world politically. He has for over nine years had “Putin envy”. He prefers the Soviet style of governance. Vladimir Putin and Viktor Orban are the two leaders he would like to emulate by joining their authoritarian club. Our president just got an authoritarian Argentinian president elected through a gift of over $40 billion paid for by the U.S. taxpayer that helped Javier Milei be elected. Remember, Elon Musk and Vice President JD Vance are also on the hunt for more totalitarian friends throughout the world. For example, a year ago both Elon Musk and Vance were in EU countries supporting several authoritarian candidates for office. They were not there supporting a constitutional free government. It appears now, that many MAGA leaders feel that freedom and democracy are just “woke” concepts not worthy of protection or continuation.

Vladimir Putin really does have a peculiar spell over our president. It should be noted that President Ronald Reagan helped tear down the Iron Curtain in Eastern Europe as well as the Berlin Wall. He also helped the Afghan freedom fighters by giving them Stinger missiles in 1986. The Russians were in Afghanistan protecting communists in control of the capital Kabul. After losing 16,000 soldiers, the Russians pulled out of Afghanistan in 1989. Did our American president help the Afghans? It sure looks that way. Currently Putin wants to recreate the power of Stalin starting with the Russians invading Ukraine three years ago. Recently the President of Ukraine asked fervently for Tomahawk missiles from the U.S. Sadly President Trump said that won't happen because “Putin said he didn't like that idea”. If you thought this would cause Ronald Reagan to roll over in his grave you would be absolutely correct. In his own mind, president Trump does not feel he has any duty to take the side of Ukraine over Russia. Internationally our president displays no interest in protecting or expanding freedom loving countries throughout the world. Trump is the very first American president since 1942 to abandon any thoughts of supporting or helping freedom loving nations. Is it because in part he wants to be a strong authoritarian or even a dictator? Dear reader, it is beginning to look like it.

On money issues, the U.S. is on a spending spree by cabinet members and other appointees. It is reaching the point of alarm. Meanwhile the president is enriching himself in the past year, as high as three or four billion dollars according to many sources. Meanwhile our national debt is skyrocketing. Remember this president, his whole life, expects a “piece of the action” on everything he does.

2 - TAX BREAKS FOR THE RICH

Don't forget in his first term, Trump passed a high tax giveaway bill in 2017 which favored the rich. It was a seven-year guarantee that is now running out, but under the “Big Beautiful Bill” it will be renewed. The trouble is, in his first term as president he broke a record for spending beyond budget, at $7.6 trillion. No president has gone off budget that much. In Joe Biden’s only term he spent $2.7 trillion over budget. But in fairness to Biden, Trump's big tax bill given to the rich shorted the U.S. Treasury. Meanwhile Joe Biden found 17,000,000 new jobs. He made America the envy of EU nations who had a 6% inflation rate while ours was 3% or under. Biden got us out of the Afghanistan war with 3 or 4 times less deaths and less loss of equipment than when we pulled out of Vietnam in April in 1975 under President Gerald R. Ford.

Now the renewal of the 2017 tax bill will not do anything but expand the debt. Most experts now believe the new tax bill will add $3 to $4 trillion in the next 4 years to the National Debt. They did not take into consideration that the current cabinet members, and the appointees of this president are all spending government money like drunken sailors. They're buying new jet aircraft, and they are giving out $140 million contracts to their friends. We are spending $50,000 per each new ICE agent as a bonus. They also get fancy new cars. We're spending millions if not billions of dollars on National Guard occupations of American cities. We're spending billions of dollars on Caribbean air strikes using aircraft carriers chasing alleged drug trafficking boats. Meanwhile the president seems totally indifferent and continuously makes his usual remarks, that anything going wrong in his Administration is the fault of former President Joe Biden. Joining this chorus is Vice President JD Vance, Speaker of the House Michael Johnson, and James Comer chairman of the House Finance Committee. All of them have often called Joe Biden the “head of the Biden crime family”. But I find it very surprising that in Feb 2024 over one hundred known Ph.D. political scientists answered a poll seeking the rankings of all U.S. presidents. President Joe Biden averaged number 14 out of 46, and Donald Trump came in dead last in all categories. Fact check!

3 – TARRIFFS (“TERRORIFFS”)

I think Trump’s position on tariffs, which he claims will be a magic bullet for our economy, is a joke and will not prove to be accurate. Since January 2025 we have taken in a little more than $200 billion from tariffs (by the way, tariffs are paid for by American businesses and taxpayers). The president promises next year tariffs will bring in a trillion dollars! This is an interesting promise because our number one trading partner Canada, announced a couple of weeks ago that they're looking to China because they consider the United States, no longer a “reliable trading partner”. Oddly enough, the president dreams that tariffs will actually someday replace personal income taxes. This is a make believe dream full of too much uncertainty, because the president does not even use reason in his negotiations on tariffs. He most often will use his own personal political ideology tactically, punishing and rewarding countries according to his political whims. It is not a way to be a reliable trading partner. We must, as I've said over and over, return oversight to whatever the Executive does in the way of tariffs. We must have transparency and accountability. The United States Supreme Court must get involved. The Constitution says tariffs are handled by Article 1. We are all whistling in an economic graveyard that could be a tragedy taking place before our very eyes. It spells trouble dear reader! It makes some of us nervous because President Donald Trump filed for bankruptcy six times in his business career. He actually went bankrupt on a casino that he owned even though the profits are built into every bet a casino gambler makes! Now he is attempting to have as much power over our country as Vladimir Putin has over Russia. Our president is ambitiously changing the whole principle of our Constitution and the meaning of America. He acts like only he has all the answers. He looks in the mirror and sees a self-made God deserving of all the power and money that the taxpayers should be willing to give him. But of course, we do not know where much of the dark money has gone.

4 - PROJECT 2025 AND REGULATIONS

The MAGA crowd; the Heritage Foundation that created project 2025, the Federalist Society, CPAC, some elements of SCOTUS, and some Fox News pundits have all decided the American economy is out of whack because of uncontrolled growth and too much government regulation over corporations. Their remedy? Well, JD Vance, Russ Vought, Kevin Roberts and many other MAGA operatives came up with a big idea of cracking down on all of the “woke” made institutions. This scheme goes like this; the unitary Executive’s power will be expanded including more immunity if he should make a poor decision. So dear reader, this power is a gift from SCOTUS, not from the U.S. Constitution. Now, what pops up but the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to be run by Elon Musk since January 2025. Quickly Elon Musk made remarks such as, “we will find a trillion dollars from waste, fraud and abuse in our institutions”. We will get rid of the “weeds” (Federal employees), and some of the Institutions so the that the “weeds” will be gone forever. The promise was that he would rectify the fraud and the abuses. Well, how did he do? First of all, he talked and talked and talked about the “savings”, but it did not translate into any believable proof that our Institutions were out of control. Meanwhile the “weeds” were laid off indiscriminately, including the best minds of many of these Institutions. Later, some of them had to be called back. It finally spun out of control, and he left his position at the end of May this year. Meanwhile our Institutions are still in chaos as new appointees come in and are on a terror of changing their original reason for being. The Education Department, HHS, CDC, the EPA, Homeland Security, the DOJ, the FBI and several others are undergoing radical changes that will take years to redress. Examples of actual wrongdoing, showed up under USAID, a department set up for foreign aid in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy. He was responsible for putting together the program, using U.S. farmers growing crops for many starving children throughout the world. In 1962 the United States spent 3% of our budget on foreign aid. In 2024 it was less than 1%, fact check! Anyway, for 2025, fully funded and fully authorized by Legislation, DOGE stopped all food deliveries. Even though deliveries had been authorized, they were suspended. The food remained in warehouses and on wharves. The results? Over 145,000 African children died. Was there an investigation? Was there any consequences of these unfortunate sad deaths? No there was not. The poorest children in the world died, from the behavior of our richest politicians. As I said before, some of these politicians have egos the size of a basketball but their hearts are smaller than a golf ball. Did any of these deaths impact the president, or Russ Vought or Elon Musk? Nah! They are tough guys. They were not bothered by the deaths of innocent children in a situation that could have been avoided by following legal principles of fundamental decency like delivering food to children that was already authorized.

Now science is being dishonored and disrespected for many of our Institutions. Without proof, many long accepted medical knowledge such as vaccines are now put into question. Again, many of our best minds are leaving HHS and the CDC. Professional and thoughtful strategies have been abandoned. So much bulldozing of our Institutions is enough to “make a stone cry”! The treatment of Federal employees has been a disgrace, as bright Americans of all professions are being turned away in a very haphazard way of doing business. Is the moral code applied to Federal employees disappearing? You betcha! Many of these employees are dedicated and patriotic Americans now being disposed of by un-American and anti-American concepts, often emanating from ideological dopes.

5 - THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE

There has been a rebranding of the Department of Justice by Attorney General Pam Bondi. The big switch is loyalty to the unitary Executive, often times at the expense of the U.S. Constitution. Now thousands of DOJ attorneys are running away under the new way of doing legal business. Now many attorneys are refusing to take capricious cases showing no merit. Especially those in the “retribution and revenge” category of our president. Now the Internal Revenue Service is laying off over 15,000 employees, and the attorneys that handled tax cheaters are being transferred or laid off. Now white-collar crime divisions are losing staffing and attorneys. The object of all of this is to change our American traditional ethical codes and forget about pursuing dishonesty. The premise is, white collar criminals and rich tax cheats are just a part of doing business in the United States. Remember the original major Bill passed in Trump’s first term was a bill that removed penalties for crimes committed under international trade. To facilitate business transactions internationally, kickbacks and certain underhanded behaviors are now accepted. Now the emphasis of the Department of Justice in the United States seems to change course, as they are now simply going after alleged disloyal Americans. Chasing after immigrants. Chasing immigrants in schools and churches and supermarkets. Again, the chasers are masked men paid $50,000 bonuses to start their job. They have fancy new cars with cases of beer in the back seat. They retain helicopters with huge searchlights at 2:00 in the morning. They show children forced out of their apartments in their underwear, standing in the streets. This is the case of a Chicago incident, and not a single one was proven to be undocumented or illegally in the United States. This is the new United States of America? Finding, “brown people”, that look suspicious. We now have innocent Americans with no access to the rule of law and no due process, sitting in jails totally innocent. We have lost our way dear reader. One of the primary reasons? Because “power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely”. And MAGA politicians and SCOTUS must participate in bringing back checks and balances immediately! Plato said, “democracies (a Republic) pass into despotism”. Is that what we are now witnessing in our country? We better find out, and find out real quick!

6 – THE MILITARY

Now the military is being revamped because of diversity, equity and inclusion. The new Administration considers DEI a false premise that should never have been instigated. The military, the universities and many corporations that employ DEI practices will now all suffer retribution in some form, if they continue to use DEI. Right now, the military is reexamining black generals to question their promotions. Black heroic soldier’s photos have been removed from the Pentagon. In the country of Holland there are 8,000 American soldiers still buried in an American cemetery from World War II. Recently two black heroic soldier’s photographs were removed from that U.S. facility in Holland. The Dutch people objected and demanded they be put back! The 4,000 transgenders in the military are uncomfortable because their medical treatments may be stopped. One female transgender soldier, a full Colonel, went on national television defending her promotions vigorously, and described them as “well earned”. She was promoted because of good military service. The females now in the U.S. military, are not treated as equals, especially black women. Generals are now very uncomfortable, and some are resigning. Note well, six former members of the military in the U.S. House and Senate went on television recently showcasing a warning, that soldiers in the military are not required to follow illegal orders. They informed the listener that soldiers do not have to follow those illegal orders. The Uniform Code of Military Justice also says you do not have to follow an illegal command. I was in the Army; I have two brothers buried in Arlington National Cemetery. They fought for their country; they didn't fight to save and promote a draft dodging president! They fought according to the U.S. Constitution and for “the people”. We do not allow our GIs to become a private army controlled by a wannabe dictator or a proven lawless racketeer.

Now let’s examine a bad idea that sends the Marine Corp and the National Guard to our cities where according to the Executive, “crime is running rampant”. Now our president is suggesting there will be many many more American cities where he intends to send troops to control crime. A simple fact is being overlooked here. The National Guard and our miliary personnel are not trained for doing police duty in American cities. The National Guard and our U.S. miliary should not be put in an area of duty where they are not trained. Note well, the billions of dollars being spent on the National Guard in these cities, is only for guarding warehouses and picking up garbage. Fact check! That is not money well spent! Those billions that are now being so unjustly wasted, should have be sent to the “crime areas” of the cities in question, and allowed the mayors there to hire more police personnel. It is financially disgraceful what we are now doing with the National Guard and our military. The waste of taxpayer money should make us all yell, “STOP!' We absolutely have to bring back oversight and follow the U.S. Constitution! We must get back to checks and balances and get back control of the “purse strings”! Hello out there! 

7 – OVERSIGHT

Our country has fallen off a cliff. There is no longer oversight. There is no longer transparency. There is no longer accountability. The MAGA Senate and House have surrendered their oath to uphold and defend the U.S. Constitution. They do not care that they have forsaken the power of the “purse strings”. They do not care that money is being spent as if it does not require checks and balances. The U.S. Senate and the U.S. House MAGA politicians spent almost two months at home because of the government shutdown. They were on full salaries while most of the Federal workers were not being paid. While at home, the Republicans did nothing. They didn't meet with their constituents. The obscenity of this should not be lost on the voting public. Our country is, as I stated earlier, going to have a $40 trillion or more National debt by January of 2027. That is less than 14 months from now! Will someone please inform me when is all of this nonsense is going to stop? Will AI pay our bills? Will AI bring back our morality? Will AI forgive President Trump for personally hauling in so many billions of dollars for himself this year? AI has no soul, no conscience and has yet to explain to the American public why AI corporations are now seeking government insurance on all their investments in AI. Why does the taxpayer have to insure the billionaires as they invest in AI? It is projected in some Wall Street circles that 20 million Americans or more could be laid off due to AI, what then? Remember dear reader, robots don't pay taxes. What happens if AI is just another Wall Street scam and not a practical or effective change in the marketplace? What if it’s another Project 2025 put together by the likes of Russ Vought, Vice President Vance, Elon Musk and many of the 1,500 billionaires in the United States? So, if a major failure takes place, the government is going to pick up the pieces? No America, it's time to be thoughtful, to be supportive of the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law. It's time to be courageous. It's time to get off the bench and no longer be a spectator but be a participant in saving our country. It's time to make freedom and liberty our standard bearer like 1775. It's time to remember that Patrick Henry said, “give me liberty or give me death”. What did he cause to happen? He helped produce the Declaration of Independence and a victory over king George III. If we let freedom and liberty slip away over some weird projects that have little proven merit, with no explanation or no expert opinion, or no public hearings, then we deserve what we get. Again, as my friend said, “elections have consequences”. Let us call on a just God to support our future on behalf of our children and grandchildren and let us begin now to reestablish accountability in the U.S. government with checks and balances, and getting back the “purse strings” by putting them where they belong under Article 1 of the U.S. Constitution. Again, note well, that “power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely”.

The chaos. The conflicts, the lies and disinformation, are constant and sometimes overwhelming produced by the president and the MAGA politicians. Their indifference to the way our country is being damaged, personally, politically and economically, must cease. SCOTUS must not abandon their duty and get off the absolute and profoundly silly version of their interpretation of the Constitution using originalism. They seem to want to go back to the ways and days of our original Constitution. Does that mean slavery was improperly stopped? Does that mean people without real estate cannot vote? Does that mean women should never have been given the right to vote? Does that mean Social Security coverage should never have been authorized? No dear reader, we must accept the natural expansion of the U.S. Constitution, just as science and inventions have progressed along with new forms of employment. Remember, our Founding Fathers did not want one man rule, they wanted checks and balances. They wanted a three-part equal government. It should be noted that members of the U.S. Supreme Court did not need a law degree! The way out of this mess is very simple. We rid ourselves of doubt. If we all participate in the rebirth and reaffirmation of our U.S. Constitution and it can still be well. Every American that has patriotism should acknowledge that they are no longer allowed to be a spectator. We all must get off the bench and help reestablish the U.S Constitution, hoping it will last another 200 years if not longer. We must act NOW!

I pray to a just God to help us make repairs on our damaged Institutions, and we must get rid of the political divisions that keep us from having fellowship between one another. We can do it! I’m 88 years old and I have no plans to die silently, without objecting to the lawlessness that I have observed.

Many MAGA followers are willing to disregard the U.S. Constitution as a legal guide. They are putting the political future of our children and grandchildren at risk. Why don’t we simply do our duty to keep the American dream alive? Bring back checks and balances, honor, pledges and oaths to the U.S. Constitution. And most importantly, simply do what President George Washing asked every American to do in 1792, honor your country by showing patriotism. Finally, we must return to the rule of law and away from the rule of lawlessness and disrespect of the U.S. Constitution.
