The Miraculous Presidency of Joe Biden

Many feel comfortable that Joe Biden put in his best effort to provide promise, hope, and real results in doing his duty as President. In October of 2024 the United States of America was the envy, economically, of the free world. The reason? Maybe, just maybe Joe Biden knew what he was doing as an honest, thoughtful leader. The facts historically will back this up.

President Joe Biden inept? Oh really?

I am a cancer survivor (twice). At age 88 I recognize that my days may be numbered. I am a grandfather, a retired small business owner and a veteran with two older brothers buried in Arlington National cemetery. I am proud of my U.S. heritage and admire our Founding Fathers as unique individuals. They created a special document in 1787, the U.S. Constitution, that in my opinion is probably the most impactful political instrument offered to the western world going back to the Magna Carta.

I am writing to especially wish former President Joe Biden, good luck on his recovery from cancer. But most importantly I write again to defend his public service and the loyalty, honor, and decency displayed in his political career. Now the U.S Constitution is undergoing stress. The past seven months have done long term damage to our Constitution in my opinion. But I am not addressing that in this missive, (stay tuned dear reader for my next blog).

In February 2024 over one hundred professional political scientists of merit were asked to comment on U.S. Presidential rankings. They pegged President Joe Biden as fourteenth out of forty seven! Why? Well, it may have been because he was engaged in finding 17 million new jobs in America. Was it because of the infrastructure improvement Bill that will last at least one or two more years to develop fully? Was it his safety gun Legislation? Was it his support of NATO, Ukraine, and the European Union? Please note he inherited a country that had just gone through a million deaths from COVID and he had to rescue a dire situation. He had many other important matters to resolve.

In Afghanistan he began studying a way out of the war. He saw futility of purpose. Remember, Afghanistan is a country of six or seven distinct Islamic groups. It is a country of mountain peaks and valleys with little cohesive government detail. In fact, they have never had a government sponsored census taken of the country. Also remember Alexander the Great bypassed Afghanistan when he was conquering the middle east three thousand years ago. Great Britain was in Afghanistan in the past 150 years twice and pulled out. Russia was in Afghanistan for ten years and pulled out in 1989 with its tail between its legs. When the U.S. pulled out in 2022, we lost 13 American GI’s, which was a sad loss. In 1975 under President General Ford, when we pulled out of Vietnam, we lost 68 military American lives. Both cases were a military tragedy no doubt.

Dear reader please, in matters of Presidential behavior, we must judge carefully. My point is this; Thomas Jefferson couldn’t look you in the eye. He was not a great orator, and he had a slave concubine. But ultimately he was a highly ranked American President. Did he earn it? You betcha. Joe Biden may not have looked physically well all the time or spoke like a great orator all the time, but the general rule of politics is, it isn’t what you say, but what you do. Will historians, in scrutinizing his actions and behavior, keep his rank of fourteenth overall? I absolutely believe that will happen. Do I believe current President Donald Trump will maintain his last position? Since his is still having over three years left on his current Presidency, we can leave that question open. Remember, Donald Trump set a record for a four year new President spending $7.6 trillion over budget. Meanwhile President Joe Biden was $2.6 trillion over budget in his four years as President. But in fairness to Joe Biden, he would have come closer to balancing the budget if Donald Trump’s tax give away lasting seven years, was not a factor. Remember also dear reader that in those seventeen million new jobs found by President Joe Biden, you must also consider revenue from Social Security, Medicare, and taxes that created money for the U.S. Treasury. President Bill Clinton in his eight years as President was fortunate enough to find 22 million new jobs.

Joe Biden had a fifty year political career. He practiced his Catholic Faith continually. Did he cheat and did he garner money illegally? Is there proof somewhere of wrong doing? You can look and look and find no evidence. He always showed his income tax returns. In fifty years of work (and a working wife) his net worth is now estimated at $10 million dollars. Half of that $10 million is in a house and major lake front property. He wrote a book on Beau Biden his son, with an estimated revenue of almost one million dollars. He also has minor real estate and some annuities. He also made money over the years on public speaking. There is nothing in his career that shows he was ever after money in an irregular way. Practicing Catholics go to confession...

So no dear reader, the constant ranting from Fox News pundits, political opposition, using innuendo and outright lies (especially about the Biden 2020 election), where there was no facts, no evidence, and no proof of wrong doing. That MAGA story is a giant sieve. It is shameful, sleazy and a Constitutional tragedy that MAGAs don’t want to go away. Remember, those sixteen hundred convicted felons that attacked the Capitol Building did much damage to the building and injured many of the Capitol police. Also remember at least 40-50% of those police had voted for Donald Trump. When those insurrectionists were pardoned, 83% of the Americans polled said it was a wrong thing to do by President Trump. So dear reader, remember facts, evidence, proof is all missing when they suggest that President Joe Biden didn’t properly earn his office. Oddly, dear reader MAGA political appointees must reject Joe Biden's legitimacy to the Presidency, or they will be overlooked for an appointment. Does this sound weird, you betcha.

Meanwhile now many of us feel comfortable that Joe Biden put in his best effort to provide promise, hope, and real results in doing his duty as President. The facts historically, and God and the Saints just might support the honesty of Saint Joe!

I have not covered all of the successes of President Joe Biden by any means, but I want to extend my best thanks for his service to God and our country. Finally dear reader, do not be afraid to wish such a good servant a speedy recovery!
